Clay Perry studied at Guildford school of art where he was a pupil of Ifor Thomas, a pioneer
teacher of photography as a fine art, he went on to teach at Ravensbourne school of art.
Clay Perry’s work including portrait photography and reportage has appeared in many publications
including, the Sunday Times Magazine, Country Living, Country Life, World of Interiors, House & Garden, Homes and Gardens, he has also worked on many advertising assignments both in the UK and overseas.
Clay has exhibited at the Special Photographers Gallery, The Slaughterhouse Gallery and England & Co, and has had an exhibition of the tribal musicians of Morocco at the mediterranean music festival in Tangier, and shown the photographs of Cable Street at the Autograph gallery in Shoreditch.
The National Portrait Gallery have purchased many of Clay’s portraits he has published a book of
heritage fruits and vegetables with the writer Toby Musgrave published by Thames & Hudson in
conjunction with the RHS. Photographs on this theme have been exhibited at the RHS Glasshouse
Gallery at Wisley also at the lost Gardens of Heligan and at Summerill & Bishop in london W11.
Clay also exhibited a series of photographs from the book at the RHS autumn photographic
exhibition which were awarded a gold medal.
